Sea-going icebreakers 16 MW

  Vyborg Shipyard PJSC is carrying out works on construction of three diesel-powered sea-going icebreakers rated power about 16 MW project 21900 M ordered by Federal Agency of Marine and River Transport. The keel-laying ceremonies of icebreakers took place in October-December 2012.
   Two icebreakers will be built by Vyborg Shipyard "on a turn-key basis", in realization of one more vessel Arctech Helsinki Shipyard is participating as Subcontractor. Vessels are capable of operation in ice thickness up to 1.5 m and will be operated in the Baltic Sea and the Arctic seas under the flag of the Russian Federation.

Blocks for the icebreaking supply vessels

Vyborg Shipyard is constructing blocks for the icebreaking platform supply vessels for Sovcomflot JSC. Vessels are built in cooperation of Vyborg Shipyard and Arctech Helsinki Shipyard. Design and equipment of the new vessels enable all-year-round transportation of personnel and supplies to the oil production platforms at Sakhalin-2 region and enhance their oil spill response and emergency evacuation capacity.


Icebreaking support vessels

Two multi-purpose diesel-powered icebreaking support vessels 22 MW will be built at Vyborg Shipyard by the order of Gazprom Neft Novy Port LLC. Icebreaking support vessels will be operated on the Arctic terminal of the Novoportovskoye oilfield located in the west of the Gulf of Ob on the Yamal peninsula. The vessels will be built under the design for the ice class Icebreaker8 providing icebreaking capability up to 2 meters and considerable manoeuvrability at a rather small draft. The vessel is designed to be operated all year round at temperatures up to -50 Co.



Port icebreaker

Vyborg Shipyard signed contract for construction of a port icebreaker under Yamal LNG project. The port icebreaker 10 MW with innovative propulsion system will be built at Vyborg Shipyard to be operated in the port of Sabetta. The distinctive feature of the vessel is innovative propulsion complex consisting of four thrusters with capacity abt. 2,5 MW each. The thrusters are located in pairs in bow and in stern that provides maximized operability in ice conditions, excellent maneuverability and performance of special operations in the water area of the Sabetta port where at the present moment LNG plant is under construction for Yamal LNG project.
